Common questions

How does the Nul Medication Programme work?

Nul Medication Programme is based on targeted pharmacological extinction, following the principles of The Sinclair Method (TSM). By taking an opioid antagonist (such as Naltrexone or Nalmefene) before drinking, the endorphin reward from alcohol is blocked, leading to a gradual reduction in cravings and drinking over time.

Is Nul’s Medication Programme scientifically proven?

Yes! The Nul Programme is based on The Sinclair Method, which is backed by over 90 clinical trials and has a 78% success rate1 in reducing alcohol use. It has been studied for decades and is recognised as an evidence-based approach to alcohol reduction.

When will my medication be delivered?

Medication is not shipped automatically, as we want to make sure your treatment remains safe and right for you. When you’re running low, simply complete a quick clinician check-in so your next supply can be reviewed and approved.

This check-in is also an opportunity to let your clinician know how you’re getting on, ask any questions, or share any changes or concerns before your next delivery is arranged.

How to order more medication:
- Log in to your dashboard on our website
- Select the “Order Medication” button
- Complete the check-in form
- Choose the amount of medication you’d like to purchase
- Pay for the medication
- A clinician will review your check-in form
- If approved, your medication will be shipped within 2 working days
- If the clinician needs to discuss anything with you before approving your order, they’ll contact you by phone first

Delivery:
Once approved and dispensed, your medication will be sent using Royal Mail Tracked 24 & Signed For, which usually arrives the next day. In some areas, delivery may take up to 2 working days.

Can I pause, reschedule or cancel my programme?

Life happens - holidays, busy stretches, weeks where the programme isn't front of mind. That's completely normal, and it's exactly why your programme is built to flex around you rather than the other way round. There's no schedule to fall behind on: you order medication only when you need it through your dashboard, group coaching is optional and runs weekly (drop back in whenever you're ready), and your clinical team and support are there whenever you pick things up again.

Because of that, your programme runs continuously for the term you've chosen - 3, 6 or 12 months - rather than pausing and restarting. Stepping away for a while doesn't cost you anything extra; everything is simply waiting for you when you return.

Cancelling is simple: email hello@choosenul.com at any time - that's the only channel we can process cancellations through. You'll keep full access until the end of your current term, and your programme won't renew. To stop a renewal, let us know at least 5 days before your renewal date. We don't refund the unused part of a term. Full details are in our Cancellation and Refund Policy.
